The final gathering for the Foundation for Community Encouragement
(FCE) was held at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC, on
July 24-28, 2002. The theme of the gathering was "Remembering
a Spirit Within and Beyond."
The first two days of the gathering were spent in a Community Building
circle which allowed participants to bring forward their feelings
about the closing of the FCE. The second two days were devoted to
Open Space discussion of lessons learned and future planning for
the Community Building movement.
The FCE has posted the proceedings of the final gathering on their
